Dr. Ralph D. Richardson, Fayetteville — crossed over the bridge to step into the Heavenly home God had prepared for him on March 21, 2020.

His presence will be missed by our city and our family of God here and abroad. Dr. Ralph pastored the Campbellton Church for 13 years. He built The Church of the Open Door and pastored for many many years.

Dr. Richardson started the Bible Alive Ministries about 40 years ago and in the early days took the Cape Fear School of Theology under his wing. Later his desire to have a Bible College built took form as he brought about the existence of the Carolina Bible College here in our community.

He built the college physically with hammer, nails, paint and established a beautiful library open to all the community. He established a Christian bookstore in the college and for 20 years was President and Professor. Bible Alive Ministry was worldwide and Dr. Ralph's daily radio Bible messages were on 14 stations for over 17 years. His Bible never left his hands day or night. At least 20 books many which were curriculum textbooks were authored and published by him.

Dr. Richardson's love for Christ and the Scriptures was phenomenal and his second great love was his family.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Bertelle Richardson; his son, Dean Richardson; his daughter, Julie Milunic and husband Matt; his grandson, Joseph Richardson and wife, Jennifer Richardson; and his great granddaughter, Caroline Richardson.

A private graveside service was held March 24, 2020. A public memorial service will be held after the threat of the corona virus.

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Carolina College of Biblical Studies, Church of The Open Door or Bible Alive Ministries.

Arrangements by Jernigan-Warren Funeral Home, 545 Ramsey St. Fayetteville, N.C. 28301.
