Dorothy was formerly employed with Kayby Hosiery Mills in Thomasville and was of the Methodist Faith. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Watford, Virginia Snider and Fannie Lou Briles; three brothers, George Briles, John Briles and Virgil Briles, II.
Surviving are three daughters, Susan Black and husband Thomas of Lexington, NC, Cathy Hunt and husband Shawn Mottern of Huntersville and Pansy Dunning and husband Bobby of Thomasville; one granddaughter, Charlotte Black Shinault and husband Robbie of Wallburg; two great grandchildren, Felicia Cranford and Blake Shinault; two great great grandchildren, Aubree Hillard and Carsten Hillard.
Graveside services will be held 1:00 PM on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery in Thomasville
