On the morning of Thursday, November 12, 2020, Sue Ellen Carter passed away at the Warner Robins Rehabilitation Center.
A true Middle Georgia native, Sue was born on May 13, 1945, in Byron and grew up in Macon. She was the daughter of the late Sydney Curtis Green, Sr. and Addie Susie (Byrd) Green. Sue received her Bachelor’s Degree in Education from Wesleyan College. A gifted teacher, Sue worked for the Houston County Board of Education where she taught middle school children who were under privileged at the Watson Center for several years until her retirement. In her spare time, Sue enjoyed gardening and caring for her flowers. She was also an avid reader. Sue cared deeply for everyone and was the most giving person. All who knew and loved her will sorely miss her.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband of five years, William Harold Carter, Jr.; sister, Rose and Jerry Payne of Musella; and father-in-law, William “Bill” H. Carter, Sr. of Warner Robins. Her parents preceded Sue in death.
A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 16, 2020, at Magnolia Park Cemetery.
