Died peacefully surrounded by family on November 9, 2020. Born February 13,1932 in Minneapolis to Walter Wales Puffer and Gladys Marie Ploof Puffer. Dick served in the US Army Military Police followed by four years in the Army Reserve. Dick joined the St. Anthony Village Fire Department, the community he had made his long time home. After two years, he then accepted the newly established position and Department of Police Sergeant which he proudly held for thirty years until his retirement.
Dick was a lifelong hockey fan and retired from playing at age 77.
Predeceased by wife Mary Pearl Ewing Puffer, sister Patricia Sodman and sister-in-law Evelyn Puffer.
