She was united in marriage to Robert Lewis Griffith on January 23, 1946, in Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, and to this union two children were born, Gwen Sue (Griffith) Miller and Lewis Gene Griffith. Bob and Betty resided in Jonesboro, Arkansas, later moving to Thayer, Missouri, where they raised their children and lived for many years.

Betty is survived by son-in-law, Robert Lee Miller; two grand-daughters, Beth Ann (Miller) Davis and husband Mark, and Amy Lee Miller; and two great grand-children, Robert Gene Davis and Janie Suzanne Davis, all of whom reside in Mountain View, Missouri.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Hubert and Virgie Taylor; her husband, Robert Griffith; her children, Gwen Sue (Griffith) Miller and Lewis Gene Griffith; one great-grandson, Darrin Joseph Davis; one brother, Douglas Taylor; and three sisters, Meda Lemmons, Willie Rose Nicholson, and Ruby Barker.

Betty accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior and was a long-time member of the church of Christ. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She lived to serve God and actively sought out ways to help others, as written in James 2:18: Now someone may argue, “Some people have faith; others have good deeds.” But I say, “How can you show me your faith if you don’t have good deeds? I will show you my faith by my good deeds.” Betty will be missed by family, friends, brothers and sisters in Christ, and by the family she made at Mountain View Health Care.

Graveside services will be held at 3:00 p.m. at Thayer Memorial Cemetery, Thayer, Missouri with Dale Law officiating. Under the direction of Yarber Mortuary, Mountain View. Memorials may be sent to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
