Ronald "Ronny" Wayne Carter
January 21, 1942 ~ November 12, 2020

Ronny Carter, 78, of Whitney, Texas passed away November 12, 2020 in Cleburne, Texas. He was born January 21, 1942 in Hubbard, Texas to Mattie Lynn Moser-Carter and Thomas Gibbs Carter. He was the oldest of 5 boys.

Ronny was a skilled laborer, mechanic, wrecker service liaison extraordinaire and race car driver. He raced dirt track race cars with his Dad and later he would build race cars for his Son-in-law.

When he wasn’t working, Ronny enjoyed playing dominoes, fishing in his green “Minner”(the green minnow, his boat), cooking brisket on his cooker or hanging out with various characters who came through the shop. He enjoyed hanging out with the many friends he had. One of the things he loved was drinking a few cold Budweiser’s, his Dr. Pepper, Coffee and the Dallas Cowboys. He enjoyed dancing, fishing, hunting, his horses, going out to our “pasture”, riding the tractor,

He was a simple man, easy going and he would do anything to help someone. He loved his family and his girls. He had the biggest heart. Ronny played in several bands throughout his life. He knew his Bible from front to back. He never missed an opportunity to watch an old western and never hardly ever took a step without his boots, cap or cowboy hat on.

Preceded in death by his father, Thomas Carter, his mother, Lynn Carter, his brother, Cecil Carter, his son, Cory Carter, his ex-wife, Joy Emery-Young and several cousins, aunts and uncles.

Survived by his brothers, Jim Carter, Randy Carter, his daughters, Kelli Simon, Jenny Woodard, Amanda West and Angie Lauderdale, grand children, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins and other extended family and friends.
