George E. Rushton, oldest son of the late William G. and Mary Jane Rushton, was born Dec. 16, 1871 in Manchester, Mich., and passed away April 25, 1945, in Mercy Hospital, Jackson, at the age of 73 years.
He was united in marriage Feb. 14, 1902, to Gertrude Elsie Rogers, and to this union were born a son and two daughters. Besides the wife, he is survived by two daughters, Mrs. Norma Johnson of Clark Lake and Mrs. Sylva Watkins of Napoleon, five grandchildren, two brothers, Robert of Lansing and Earl of Los Angeles, Calif., and several nephews and nieces.
For Many Years Mr. Rushton owned and operated the general store in Napoleon, now owned by H. P. Hastings, and for the past several years devoted his time to raising flowers and vegetables.
He has been a resident of and near Napoleon all of his life and was an active member of the Napoleon Masonic Lodge and other organizations of the village.
