Clarence Keith Jacobson, 89, of Snowflake, AZ passed away peacefully, Sunday October 15, 2017 at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Scottsdale, AZ, as a result from suffering a massive stroke two days earlier.

Born September 18, 1928, in Santaquin, Utah, he was the son of Carlos Nels Jacobson and Mabel Elizabeth Houghton. Keith married the love his life, Shirley Jean Ridgley on July 10, 1947. He was preceded in death by his lifelong sweetheart of sixty five years, mother and father, three sisters, two brothers, and a great granddaughter.

Keith is survived by one brother, and five children, Mike Jacobson, San Diego, CA, Susan (Donald) Camacho, Snowflake, AZ, Greg (Jake) Randa Jacobson, West Union, Ohio, Bruce (Cheryl) Jacobson, Pleasant View, UT, Lisa (Rick) Gibson, Taylor, AZ, sixteen grandchildren, and 31 great grandchildren.

He had many interests in life, including a love of watching and participating in sports. He was an accomplished fast ball softball pitcher, and probably pitched a thousand games over a career spanning forty years, and pitched his last game at the age of 64. He also loved boxing and had several amateur fights, and as a professional, once fighting Lamar Clark, who fought Muhammad Ali a few years later.

He loved everything to do with the outdoors, including hunting, fishing, camping, and traveling with his wife in their fifth wheeler, and after retiring, they traveled many places in the west, and spent many winters in Mesa, AZ, and St. George, Utah, before moving permanently to Snowflake in 1997.

Keith worked for U.S. Steel for 35 years, starting as a janitor in 1949, and at retirement was a supervisor in the rolling mill.

He was a lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and as a couple, he and Shirley served a Family History Mission in Snowflake.

There will be a viewing at the Silver Creek Mortuary, 745 Paper Mill Rd., Taylor, AZ, from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, October 20th, and a graveside service Saturday October 21st, at 11 a.m. at the Mike Ramsey Memorial Cemetery located at 390 S. 4th Street West, Snowflake, AZ.
