Angel, known as 'Rosie' by her family, was born in Akron, Ohio on March 30th, 1932 and was the 5th of 7 children born to Irvin and Edith Heckerman. She is survived only by her sister, Juanita Johnson. She was raised in Ohio and was visiting there when she met and married Ted Rose I in 1960. They soon moved to California where they lived in Lodi and Sacramento for a number of years. They moved to Southern California in about 1986 where they eventually settled in Rialto. Angel remained there until moving to Galt, CA in November 2014.
In her twenties, Angel was an actress and worked in some of the old westerns, including the movie '3:10 to Yuma'. She became friends with Glenn Ford and Audie Murphy out at Old Tucson. She was a top model in Tucson, AZ and also did many live commercials.
At the age of 28 she experienced the power of God's love and gave her heart and life to Jesus Christ. She and her husband went on to minister as a team for 45 years; he was a gospel singer, and she would share her life changing testimony. That same power of God's love that changed her also changed the lives of many who would listen to their message of healing hearts and freedom from addictions.
Angel was married to Ted Rose I for 45 years, and he preceded her in death in 2005. She was also preceded in death by her son, Michael Sumstine in 2007.
She is survived by her sons, Dewey Rose of Honolulu, Hawaii and Ted Rose II of Sacramento, CA and daughters Sharon Durham of Stockton, CA and Judy Tucker of Medford, OR. She is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren.
Angel's prayers and intercession, her love, laughter, radiant beauty and soft spoken voice will be deeply missed by all her family and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service at the History Makers Community Center, 550 Industrial Drive, Suite 100, Galt, CA 95632 Saturday, March 7th, 2015 at 11 am.
