Karen Ann Hawkins, 75, passed away Thursday, November 12, 2020. Born July 15, 1945 in Anderson County, Karen was the daughter of the late Bolivar Bond Hawkins and Edith Pearl Disponett Hawkins.
Along with her parents, Karen was preceded in death by her brother, Franklin Tyler Hawkins; and her uncle and aunts, Bernice Disponett, J.P. Disponett, Carrie Durr, Susie B. Wiley, and Delcie Morgan.
Karen retired as a program analyst for Medical Assistance at Kentucky State Government. A 1963 graduate of Anderson High School, Karen completed her Bachelor’s Degree from Eastern Kentucky University in 1968. She was a member of First Baptist Church, a member and past president of the Beta Sigma Phi and served on the Lawrenceburg/Anderson County Zoning Commission for 8 years. Her enjoyments included crewel, cross stitch and traveling.
Karen is survived by her uncles and aunt, John Henry (Lovena) Disponett, Mary Lacefield, and Dave (Brenda) Disponett, all of Lawrenceburg; and three nephews, Wayne (Lori D. Yeary-Hawkins) Hawkins, Anthony Tyler Hawkins, and Tyler Christian Hawkins; and numerous cousins.
A time of visitation will be held from 11 am – 12 noon Saturday, Nov. 14th at Ritchie & Peach Funeral Home followed immediately by a graveside service at 12 noon Saturday at the Lawrenceburg Cemetery pavilion. Dr. Bob Ehr will officiate the service.
