Julia A. Curtis died Tuesday, Jan. 4, 2000, at Palmetto Richland Memorial Hospital. She was a daughter of the late Haynesworth and Rosa Spann Pearson. In her youth, Mrs. Curtis joined Bethel A.M.E. Church, where she served until her marriage. After her marriage she joined St. Luke A.M.E. Church. Survivors include a son, Richard Curtis; a daughter, Jessie M. Coleman; two brothers, Jasper Pearson and William Scott; three grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 3 p.m. Saturday at St. Luke A.M.E. Church with the Rev. R.R. Hooper, pastor, officiating, assisted by the Rev. Frank E. Williams Sr. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be stewards. Flower bearers will be members of the Missionary Society. The casket will be placed in the church at 2 p.m. The funeral procession will leave the home, 820 N. Main St., at 2:30 p.m. The family will receive friends at the home. Williams Funeral Home Inc. is in charge of arrangements.
