Laura Mary Moore (Bodnar), 73, of White, GA, passed away peacefully Monday, November 9, 2020. Laura was born in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of the late George N Bodnar and Shirley E Bodnar (Reed). She spent a large portion of her life dedicated to her higher education and career. From 1978 to 1993 she completed her A.S.N., B.S.N., M.S.N. in Nursing and Ed D in Education with academic accolades. Her career took her on many paths in the nursing profession. She transitioned into teaching in 1985 at Daytona Beach Community College and continued onto UCF, Florida State University and Kennesaw State University. In addition to working for the State of Florida and Georgia. Mrs. Moore was an active member of Savior of All Lutheran Church, Cartersville. She was an avid dog lover and was involved with Great Pyrenees and Newfoundland Dog rescue organizations and shows. In recent years, she was accompanied by two dachshunds. She was predeceased by her husband, Edward George Moore in 2013, the love of her life for 42 years. Mrs. Moore is survived by her daughter and son-in law, Lara and James Spears of Ball Ground; sister and brother-in-law, Georgette and Rich La Spina; grandson, Kellan Spears of Ball Ground. Graveside services will be held at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA, to be laid to rest with her husband and will be limited to immediate family. A memorial service will be arranged at a later date. In lieu of flowers donations in Laura’s memory may be made to the: Savior of All Lutheran Church Building Fund, 35 Indian Trail SE Cartersville, GA 30120.
