David was preceded in death by his parents, a baby brother, and three sisters, his son, Philip Wayne Hales, and a baby granddaughter, Emily Hales.
He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Doris Daniel Hales; a son Ron Hales and wife Linda; a daughter, Donna Stevens and husband Guy; and a daughter in-law Mary Hales; grandchildren, Jacqueline Gingerich and husband Troy, Phillip Hales and wife Rachel, Chris Craig and wife Kelly, Miranda Hales, and Kaylie, Tate, Morganne, Joshua, and Joey Stevens; great grandchildren, Phillip and Emerson Gingerich; and sisters Shirley Dowell, Barbara Lankford and brother Sam Hales.
David proudly served in the Marines and the Army in Korea. He retired from Civil Service at TAFB and then later worked at the Cowboy Hall of Fame.
He was a longtime member of First Southern Baptist Church of Del City and is currently a member of Sooner Baptist Church of Midwest City. He loved his Lord, his family and his church family.
His favorite pastimes were spending time with family, playing with his grandchildren, hunting and listening to gospel music.
The family will be receiving friends and family from 2 to 4pm, Sunday, August 8, at Candlewood Chapel at Ford Funeral Service.
His service will be held 2pm, Monday, August 9 at Sooner Baptist Church of Midwest City with burial to follow.
