Lynn Wade Murphy, 66, of the Village of Alamance, passed away Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at his home.

A native of Guilford County, Mr. Murphy was the husband of Debby McKinley Murphy and the son of the late Thurman Leon Murphy and the late Mary Crowder Murphy.

Mr. Murphy retired from GKN and had worked previously at Trader’s Chevrolet and Dick Shirley Chevrolet.

He was an avid auto enthusiast who loved to watch racing and work on race cars. He also loved to restore older automobiles.

In addition to his wife, Debby, of the home, Mr. Murphy is survived by two sons; Michael Murphy and Franklin Murphy, both of Alamance; two grandchildren, Andrew Murphy and Karleigh Murphy; a sister, Sue Holt, and her husband, Alan, of Burlington; a brother, Frank Murphy and his wife, Dee, of Burlington and seven nephews.

Mr. Murphy was preceded in death by his first wife and mother of his children, Denise Shoffner Murphy, who died in 2018.

The family will receive friends and friends Sunday, November 15th, from 2:00 to 4:00 PM at the home of Sue Holt, 1246 Monroe Holt Rd, Burlington.
