Charles Russell Vaughn, 83, of Huntsville, passed away on Monday, November 10, 2020. Russ was born in Riverside, CA, on September 7, 1937, and grew up traveling between California and his extended family in Kentucky. After serving in the Army, he moved to Alabama in the 1960s where he ran Vaughn Associates, Inc., a firm specializing in representing manufacturers of high technology instrumentation products to government and industrial customers around the southeastern United States.
Always adventurous, Russ loved exploring new challenges from airplane flying to golf and ballroom dancing. He particularly loved travel and spending time with his friends from Sunday school.
A widower, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen, and by his second wife, Dorothy. Russ is survived by his daughter, Leigh Ann Vaughn; his son, Jeffrey Vaughn; and his son-in-law, John Luginsland.
A memorial service will be held at Laughlin Service Funeral Home led by Reverend Mac Buttram on Monday, Nov. 16th, at 1:00 p.m. He will be buried at Maple Hill Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Russ' name to Trinity United Methodist Church, 607 Airport Rd SW, Huntsville, AL 35802.
