Roger Keith Parker, age 84, of Dwight, Kansas, passed away November 7, 2020, at his residence.
He was born June 3, 1936 in Parkerville, Kansas to Marion and Hazel (Kraus) Parker. He attended Parkerville grade school and was a graduate of Dwight Rural High School with the class of 1954. Roger married his high school sweetheart June Church on June 3, 1956.

Roger and his family were in the refined fuel and propane business for 45 years and during that time he was a member of the Kansas Petroleum Marketers and Kansas LP Gas Association, also serving as President of the Gas Association in 1987.

Roger was a member of the Dwight Presbyterian Church. He served on the Dwight City Council prior to being Mayor of Dwight from 1971 to 1977 and again from 1981 to 1986. He was on the Fire Department and served as Fire Chief for 25 years.

He is preceded in death by his parents and granddaughter Brooke Nicole Pereira.

Roger is survived by his wife June and their three children: Randel (Lori), Sandra (David), Linda (Scott); 7 grandchildren: Jenny (Guillermo), Wendy (Matt), Kyle (Kyle), Kirsti (Austin), Tyler (Bailey), Leslie (Matt), Michael (Alicia); 12 great-grandchildren: Ansley, Marin, Riggin, Parker, Rhett, Lakyn, Charlie, August, Brenley, Nash, Emery, and Bennett; brother Leland Parker and sisters Norma and Lucille.

A private family graveside will be held at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to What’s in Outdoors Fund and sent in care of Sawyer Funeral Home, Box 273, Council Grove, KS 66846. This fund has been established to host a Family Fish Camp in the Spring of 2021 at the Marina Cove. The camp will teach youth and their families the basics of fishing.
