The Edgefield Goodes - 49. Philip Goode, son of No. 32 was born 1700-20. There being no record of his presence in Virginia it seems reasonable to identify him with Philip Goode who settled in South Carolina at an early day, 1760-1770, and who lived in Edgefield, District S.C. Tradition seems to indicate that he lived for a time in Mecklenburg Co., probably near his brother Mackarness. Children:--80. Philip Goode, b. 1760-1785; 81. Samuel, 82. Mackerness.
