Pat Brooks Helms, age 86, of Monroe, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on November 10, 2020.
She was born in Union County on November 15, 1933, daughter of the late Cyrus Lee and Bessie Love Brooks.
Mrs. Helms was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Elder Newell Helms and her four siblings.
She is survived by her son, Dennis Helms; her daughters, Karon Williams (Dana), Anita Baucom (Craig) and Emily Huffstetler (Steve); her grandchildren, Matthew Helms (Lorie), Sharla Poling, Amanda Huneycutt (Jason), Luke Helms (Victoria), Stephanie Tokhi (Javid), Samuel Garrett, Kasey Haigler, Kyle Baucom (Emmy), Abby King (Duffie), Justin Price, Jordan Price and Courtney Price; her nineteen great-grandchildren; her brother, Dwight Brooks (Nancy Jo) and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will have open visitation hours from 12:00pm until 3:00pm Friday, November 13, 2020 at Union Grove Primitive Baptist Church. An outdoor service to celebrate the life of Mrs. Helms will begin at 3:00pm with Elder Ronnie Loudermilk and Elder Lonnie Mozingo officiating. Private interment will follow in the church cemetery. For those who wish to stay in their vehicles in the parking lot during the service, you may tune in by radio station 1690am when you arrive.
