Guy A. Turner, age 49, of Savanna, Illinois died Thursday, September 27, 2007 at home in the arms of his loving wife and surrounded by his family. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday, October 1, 2007 at First United Methodist Church, Savanna with Reverend Larry Thomson of the First United Methodist Church officiating. A visitation will be held from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 30, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church, Savanna and one hour prior to the service on Monday at the Church. A memorial fund has been established in Guy's Memory.

Guy was born on December 12, 1957 in Clinton, Iowa the son of Jerry A. and Betty (Goodell) Turner. He was raised by his mother, Betty, and father, Sherman Guenzler. Guy graduated from the Chadwick High School with the class of 1976. He served in the United States Air Force. On April 23, 1977 Guy married Joy Fosdick.

Most important to Guy was his family. He loved children, singing, dancing, and through his illness, and challenges in life, Guy never lost his sense of humor and always kept his strong faith in God.

Guy will be dearly missed by his wife; Joy of Savanna; a daughter; Jessica (Michael) Lowry of Davenport, Iowa; his God-son; Timothy Miller of Savanna; parents Betty and Sherman Guenzler of Chadwick, Illinois and Jerry Turner of Camanche, Iowa; three brothers; Jerry (Colleen) Turner of Manchester, New Hampshire, Kevin Turner of Davenport, Iowa, Glenn Turner of Manchester, New Hampshire; his sister, Tina (Eric) Siegel of Lanark, Illinois; three step-brothers, Jeffrey (Beth) Guenzler of Aurora, Illinois; Michael (Rina) Guenzler of Port Orchard, Washington, and Brian (Amy) Guenzler of Nauvoo, Alabama; his father and mother in-law, Bob (Patt) Fosdick of Savanna; and the entire Fosdick family. Guy is preceded in death by all of his grandparents. Guy's family wishes to give a special thanks to Carol Sword for her caregiving.
