Darrell E. Watts, residing in South Bend, passed away at 12:05 a.m. Tuesday, Nov. 10, 2020 in his home, wife his loving wife and family by his side. He was 88 years old.

He was born January 2, 1932 in Mishawaka, IN, a son of the late Ernest T. and Edith Edna (Williams) Watts, and has remained a lifelong resident of this area.

On April 10, 1954, in South Bend, Darrell was united in marriage to Joyce Gearhart who survives. Along with his loving wife of 66 years, he is survived by two daughters, Debbie (John) Birkey of Bremen, Cindy (Tim) McCan of Lakeville, his son, Kenneth (Debbie) Watts of South Bend, and by Ron Evans, of Imlay City, MI, who was just like a son to him. Also surviving are sixteen grandchildren and 33 great-grandchildren, with one on the way.

He was preceded in death by his son, Douglas M. Watts of June 8, 2015, a sister, Joan Easton, and two brothers, John R. Watts, and Michael Watts.

Mr. Watts was a graduate of Riley High School. He retired as a Supervisor from I & M Electric Company, and was a faithful member of Community Baptist Church in South Bend. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corp.

Services for Mr. Watts will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Palmer Funeral Home-Lakeville, within the Palmer Community Complex, 601 North Michigan St., Lakeville, IN. His grandson, Rev. Josh Hamilton will officiate. The family will receive friends from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. Friday and one hour prior to the service on Saturday at the funeral home. Graveside services and military honors will follow at Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend.
