Funeral service for Ronald B. Hayes will be at The Christian Center, Lawton, Oklahoma.

Burial will be at Mount Hope Cemetery in Topeka, Kansas.

Arrangements are under the direction of Becker-Rabon Funeral Home.

Due to Covid-19, all those attending the services are required to wear a mask.

Ronald B. Hayes, 85, Lawton, Oklahoma passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at his home in Lawton following a short illness. He was born and raised in Topeka, Kansas and relocated to Lawton in 1978. Ronald worked for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for over 40 years.

Ronald Birchard Hayes, 85, passed away Wednesday, November 4, 2020 at his home in Lawton, Oklahoma following a short illness. He was born on April 17, 1935 in Topeka, Kansas to Rutherford B. and Thelma F. (McIntosh) Hayes.

He is preceded in death by his parents Rutherford B. and Thelma F. Hayes, brothers Joseph, Frederick, and Floyd Hayes.

He leaves sisters Alyce Brown – Texas, Lilly Hayes – Kansas, and brothers Daniel and Wendell Hayes, both of Kansas, also, Daughter Constance Hayes, Kansas and sons Gregory (Pamela – Wife) Hayes –Maryland, and Christopher Hayes, Kansas, along with seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Born and raised in Topeka, Kansas, Ronald Hayes worked for the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company for over 40 years progressing from janitor, to tire builder, supervisor, foreman, department manager, to Health/Hygiene Facility Coordinator. Ronald Hayes attended courses at both Washburn and Cameron Universities while working at Goodyear. He owned and operated a business in Lawton. Ron was a certified electrician, received an achievement medal for civilian service from the Army, along with a certificate for five years of service in the government. He also received certificates for hazardous waste operations, emergency response, biomedical waste management, and bloodborne pathogens in environmental training. He's been athletic most of his life and enjoyed things like softball and bowling. Ron loved the Lord with great passion and shared God's word with all who would listen. He loved his church and faithfully attended services. Over many years, Ron was involved in the Christian Center's nursing home ministry.
