Roger Carroll Tipton, age 82, passed away Monday, November 9, 2020 at Heritage Hall in Big Stone Gap, Virginia.

He was a lifelong resident of Dickenson County. He was a member of Faith Bible Church in Clinchco, Virginia and retired from The Breaks Interstate Park as a park ranger. Mr. Tipton was also a lifetime member of Clinchco Fire Department.

Roger was preceded in death by his wife, Llowene Tipton; his parents, Cody and Dorothy Tipton; his brother, Johnny Tipton; his two sisters, Shelia Taylor and Polly Mullins; son in law, Carlos O’Quinn; and his daughter, Donna Marie Tipton.

Survivors Include:

His Children: Dennis (Karen) Tipton of Clinchco, Virginia, Russell (Twyla) Tipton of Penhook, Virginia, and Daphene O’Quinn of Richlands, Virginia

Grandchildren: Wesley (Heather) Tipton, Tyler Tipton, Tara (Matthew) Mullins, Sara (Brandon) Tegler, KaraDee (Tyson) Hamilton, Isaac (Miranda) O’Quinn, and Dalton Tipton

One Brother: Claude Tipton or Richmond, Virginia

Two Sisters: Mildred Salyer of Richmond, Virginia and Marlene McCowan of Clinchco, Virginia

Great Grandchildren: Abigail Tipton, Mason Tipton, Noah Mullins, Natalie Mullins, Carson Hamilton, Layne Hamilton, Lucas Tegler, and Tate O’Quinn

The family will receive friends Wednesday, November 11, 2020 at 6:00 p.m. at Mullins Funeral Home Chapel with services to follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, November 12, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with Arnold Adams and Darrell Milgrim officiating. Burial will follow at Temple Hill Memorial Park, Castlewood, Virginia.

Pallbearers will be grandson in laws and grandsons: Isaac O’Quinn, Tyson Hamilton, Brandon Tegler, Matthew Mullins, Wesley Tipton, Tyler Tipton, and Dalton Tipton

Honorary Pallbearers will be Bill Mullins, Don Mullins, Jeff Taylor, Mark McCowan, Dale Mullins, and Wayne Jackson.

Mullins Funeral Home and Staff are serving the Tipton family.
