Funeral services for Emmett Orren Groves, 64; who died Friday, will be held Monday, 2p.m., at the McDonald Funeral Home. Rev. Robert Rings will officiate with Masonic Lodge No. 69 F & AM. Cremation will follow.

Mr. Groves was born May 15, 1901, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence S. Groves. He had been a resident of Clallam County for 34 years.

He married Rose Patava in Des Moines, Aug. 24, 1923. She survives him at their home at 1325 E. Front St.

Mr. Groves was a veteran of two World Wars, having been a baker in the Army during World War I, and chief commissary steward in the Navy in World War II.

He was a member of the Methodist Church in Springfield,Ore.; Past Commander of Walter Ackley Post No. 29, American Legion; a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars; Masonic Lodge No. 171, Springfield; Eugene Consistory, Oregon; Hlllah Temple of Ashland, Ore.; and an honorary member of WWI Barracks of Port Angeles

Besides his wife, Mr. Groves is survived by a daughter, Mrs. Dale Crane of Iowa; his stepfather, Ira C. Groves; two sisters, Mrs. Len Miller of Port Angeles and Mrs. F.N. Cunningham of Iowa.

Five grandchildren also survive.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Shrine Crippled Children's Hospital at Portland.
