Roger was born on July 8, 1951 in Helena, Arkansas to Hubert and Inez Barnes. He passed away on Friday, November 6, 2020 in Shreveport, Louisiana. He passed away peacefully at home in his sleep.
Roger was a resident of Shreveport and worked as a master carpenter for 40 years. His favorite pastimes were camping at Lake o’ the Pines and watching LSU and Saints football.
Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Hubert Barnes and Inez Herndon and brother, Wayne Barnes. He is survived by the love of his life for 42 years, Dewanna Barnes; daughter, Srena Ainsworth and husband, Billy; son, Isaac Barnes and daughter-in-love Kimberly; grandchildren, Madison Ainsworth, Courtney Ainsworth and their, father Tim Fischer, Nicholas and Ashley Ainsworth, Ethan Addison and Tristen Barnes and four great-grandchildren, Callie, Blakely, Braxton, and Everleigh and many friends that were lucky enough to get to know him.
A special thanks to the VA Hospital and Dr. Donna Shelbourne and the Red Team for the wonderful care they provided Roger during his illness.
The family requests that everyone wear LSU colors which was Roger’s favorite team.
