June M. Baker, 94 passed away at 1:19 a.m. on Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Birchaven Village in Findlay, OH. She was born on October 6, 1926 to the late James L. and Elva (Lewman) Hughes in Fremont, OH. She married Max E. Baker on November 11, 1945 and he preceded her in death on December 1, 1974. Surviving is her son James (Deb) Baker. June lived most of her life on the family farm in Kansas, Ohio. The farm was a place she treasured and loved working outdoors. Animals were a big part of her life and they held a special place in her heart, especially the sheep, dogs and cats. She loved to travel both within the United States and abroad, meeting new people. She worked for and retired from Seneca County Veterans Services. She enjoyed her work because she came from a family that served in the military; this job allowed her to give back. She was a life member of the Kansas United Methodist Church. June loved to cook and loved to feed people, and helped at many fundraisers in Kansas that required her delicious dishes. She will be buried in a private service with no visitation; Reverend Jessie Commeret will officiate. Kirkpatrick-Behnke Funeral Home is handling the arrangements. Memorials may be given in her honor to the Kansas United Methodist Church, 5926 W SR 635, Kansas OH 44841. The family would like to send a heartfelt thank you to all the staff at Birchaven and Bridge Hospice for the wonderful attention they gave to June the last few years of her life. She enjoyed and appreciated all the staff like family.
