Barbara was born in Napoleon March 4, 1922 to Felix and Eva (Schumacher) Ziegler and lived there till she met and married Tony Klein. They moved to California until his Naval discharge then to Linton where Tony managed the Red Owl Store. After a brief stay in Minot, they settled in Williston. During this time, they had four children. Barbara enjoyed her church activities, including the Catholic Daughters, and her retail work at JC Penney's. When the kids were grown, she and Tony moved to Bismarck in 1971 where she worked at Lucas', and Herberger's until her retirement.
Always a lady, she insisted on appropriate dress and manners from her children and herself never hesitating to inform anyone of improper behavior. Her later years were spent visiting with her friends, shopping and lunching with her daughters, visiting on the phone with family, reading, doing crosswords, coloring in her books, playing Bingo and various games with her friends at Marillac Manor and attending daily Mass.
We will always be grateful for her guidance and support and will miss our visits about her deep faith and trust in the Lord and her life and family.
Barbara is survived by her children, Toni Anderson, Barbara (Zach) Heinert, Donna Lane and Tom (Lorri) Klein; grandchildren, David Trujillo, Cody (Alicia) Heinert, Joseph (Sarah) O'Brien, Erin (Dan) Cernich, Theresa (Jason) Close, Tommy and Hannah Klein; great-grandchildren, Declan O'Brien, Carter Heinert and Olivia Heinert; one sister-in-law, Pauline Ziegler; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Barbara was preceded in death by her husband, Tony; five brothers, Tony, Joe, Frank, Ben and Tom Ziegler; granddaughter, Kristen (Lane) Riel; and son-in-law, Ron Lane.
