Obituary for Louise Ross
SHELBYVILLE – Louise (Carter) Ross, age 81, of Walker Place in Shelbyville, formerly of Greenfield, passed away on Saturday, September 19, 2020. She was born in Union City, Indiana on February 23, 1939 to John R. and Dorothea L. (Detamore) Carter. She graduated from Warren Central High School in 1957. In 1960, she became a registered nurse through Methodist Hospital School of Nursing.

She spent her career as a registered nurse for many years working in Indianapolis, Louisville, KY, Beech Grove, Evansville, and Hancock Hospital in Greenfield. Louise was a member of Trinity Park United Methodist Church and Greenfield Community Choir. She loved painting, reading, and making crafts. She was an avid Colts, Pacers, and IU Fan. Family meant everything to her, and she cherished all the moments she spent with them.

Louise is survived by her daughters, Kathleen E. Burton of Greenfield, Christine L. Roberts of Indianapolis, and Shonece E. (James) Goebel of Shelbyville; 8 grandchildren, Nathan (Lauren) Burton, Kiah (Phil) Mason, Cheyenne Goebel, Bailey Goebel, Zachary Burton, Anthony Burton, Kameron Kelly, and Caleb Kelly; 3 great-grandchildren; brothers, S. Fred (Fran) Carter of Franklin and T. Roger (Dee) Carter of Florida; step-daughters, Lin (Paul) Wheeler of Indianapolis, Debbie Ross of Morristown, and Cindy Rudishauser of Bend, OR; and a cousin, Barbara Carter of Baltimore, MD. She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Dorothea Carter; husbands, Phillip E. Roberts, Richard Green, and Robert Lee Ross; and a stepson, Steven Ross.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 25, 2020, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory, 1484 W. US Hwy. 40, Greenfield, IN 46140. A nurses honor service will be presented at 7:00 p.m. by the Hancock Health Nurses Honor Service team. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 26, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. at Trinity Park United Methodist Church, 207 W. Park Ave, Greenfield, IN 46140. Pastor Mike Manning will be officiating. Burial will follow at Hanover Cemetery in Morristown. As a reminder, masks are required in public indoor spaces and please practice social distancing.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made by mail to Trinity Park United Methodist Church, 207 W. Park Ave, Greenfield, IN 46140, FUSE, Inc., 1133 W.
