John Richard Grigg died this morning at his home at 522 W. Rankin Ave. He was born in Cleveland County Sept. 12, 1882 but had made his home here since 1915.
HE RETIRED FROM THE CITY POLICE FORCE IN 1948 AFTER 35 YEARS OF SERVICE.
A brother W.A. Grigg, of Petersburg, VA survives. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Fred Grigg Jr. and Mrs. James P. Rankin.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 3 p.m at Laurel Hill Methodist Church. The family will receive friends at McLean's Funeral home tonight from 7 to 9.
