She was the first of nine children born to John and Margaret Balint. She graduated from the College of Mount Saint Vincent in Riverdale, NY with a degree in chemistry. In 1951, she married Richard Murray at Most Holy Trinity Church in Yonkers. While raising their large family, she also taught grade school at Sacred Heart School in Mount Vernon, NY for 23 years, and was the organist at St. Bartholomew’s Church and later at St. Ann’s Church, both in Yonkers. In 1990 she moved to Harwich with her husband, and accepted a position as the organist at Holy Trinity Church in Harwich, finally retiring at the age of 91. She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband of 50 years, Richard; and recently by her youngest daughter, Ann Steidel (b. 11 Nov 1962, Bronxville, NY - d. 18 Oct 2020, Harwich, MA). She is survived her children, Richard Murray, Margaret Kenyon, Mary Russell, Patricia Krause, Susan Egan, John Murray, James Murray, Joseph Murray and their spouses; nineteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; sisters, Bernice Flynn, Mary Lou Blute and Judy Fasano.
