Virginia Ellen Arnold, age 75, of Princeton and formerly of Raleigh County, passed away on Sunday, November 8, 2020 at Glenwood Park Retirement Community. Virginia and her husband, Raymond were members of Ghent Missionary Baptist Church. She played the piano and organ for over 40 years at her church. Virginia taught Business for ten years at Woodrow Wilson High School and Shady Spring High School before retiring as a Librarian for the Raleigh County Public Library. She had a passion for quilting, sewing, crocheting and cross-stitching.

She was born on February 16, 1945 in Dyersburg, TN to the late Jesse Harding Gravely (1918-2008) and Louise Virginia Veid-Gravely (1919-2000).

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband of over 51 years, Raymond Lawrence Arnold (B. 1940) whom she married on November 28, 1968 in Glen Morgan, Raleigh County, WV (per WV Marriage License Register, Raleigh County, WV, 1968, Page 123, Application Date: November 16, 1968); son, Larry Arnold; daughter, Lura Arnold-Graham & husband, Robert Graham; grandchildren, Jessie Graham, Eli Graham and Anthony Arnold; sister, Mary Gravely-Denny; brother, James Gravely; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, November 12, 2020 in the Chapel of Blue Ridge Funeral Home with Pastor Mark Kruchkow officiating. The family will receive friends 30 minutes prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow the services in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. In accordance with the current CDC guidelines, the family and the staff of Blue Ridge Funeral Home ask that those who attend the services wear proper facial coverings and practice social distancing at all times.
