Roy J. Reynolds, loving husband, father, brother, and grandfather, left this earth to return Heavenly Home on Monday, November 9, 2020, in Oklahoma City, OK. Roy was born in Little, OK on August 1, 1928 to Grady and Hattie Reynolds.

He attended Prairie Valley High School in the community of Little, OK, where he played first string for the basketball team and won a championship. The basketball court is also, where Roy met the love of his life, Maxine. At an early age they met and knew it was meant to be for the rest of their life. Roy and Maxine were married in 1947, in Seminole, OK; together they had seventy-two blissful years of marriage. Roy was used to big families, having nine siblings. He and Maxine started their own Reynolds clan with the births of their children, Leslie, Richard, Beth, Keith and Steve.

Roy was a hardworking man, who always provided for his family. He was a firefighter for the Seminole Fire Department from 1948-1951, before moving into a career in oil field management. When Roy wasn’t working, you could find him tending to his vegetable garden as well as playing dominoes. He has also been a member of Cherokee Hills Church of Christ for many years. However, his true passion was family. Roy loved spending time with his grandchildren and great grandchildren and teaching them new things. Many people would describe Roy as a man of integrity, caring, someone that would take the shirt off his back for a stranger. While he was a practical joker at times, Roy was truly trustworthy and would often say, “My handshake is my bond.” Roy will be dearly missed by all who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his father, Grady Jerome Reynolds; mother, Hattie Elizabeth (Hack) Reynolds; brothers, Alton Reynolds, Truman Reynolds, Gerald Reynolds, Wayne Reynolds, Terry (Bud) Reynolds; and sisters, Phyllis Reynolds, Ruth Cunningham, True Hinton, and June Maxey.

Roy is survived by his wife, Maxine (Madden) Reynolds; son, Leslie Reynolds of Catoosa, OK; son, Richard Reynolds of Salisaw, OK; daughter, Beth Kuykendall and husband Jim of Georgetown, TX; son, Keith Reynolds of Warr Acres, OK; and son, Steve Reynolds of Oklahoma City, OK; and former daughter-in-law, Mary Ann Reynolds. He also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews to cherish his memory.

Visitation will be held on November 12, 2020 at 4:00 pm at Chapel Hill Funeral Home, 8701 N.W. Expressway, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.
