Sandra was born March 27, 1942 in Bevier, Missouri, the daughter of Leotho Mason Shoemaker and Florence Alma Mason Shoemaker.
She married Ronald Gene Woodruff in 1961 in Independence, Missouri. She married Frank Madison Hughes on September 3, 1983 at First Assembly of God Church, Bettendorf, IA. He passed away February 16, 2019.
Sandra served in the Woman’s Army Corp. She was licensed and ordained through Harvesters Christian Fellowship, Crossville, Tennessee. She was a member of Bethel Assembly of God Church in Rock Island, IL, where she was part of the Worship Team. She graduated from Black Hawk College and from Harvesters School of Ministry, Crossville, Tennessee with a Bachelors’ in Theology. Sandra and her husband, Frank ministered at East Moline Correctional Center for 10 years. They also ministered in Rock Island County Jail and Scott County Jail in Davenport, IA.
In 2003, she and Frank created the “Road To Recovery Program” workbook, and he taught the curriculum throughout Quad Cities Churches. She and Frank started Road to Recovery Church of the Quad Cities of which she was associate pastor.
Sandra worked at the former Brammer Manufacturing and John Deere Harvester Works (where she met Frank). She had been licensed in Insurance and worked for Bob Onken Insurance Company. Her last position was at Quality Heating and Air Conditioning where she managed the service department.
Sandra leaved behind her children, Mark (Terry) Woodruff, Geneseo, IL, Rebecca (Jay) Wilson, Bettendorf, IA, and Kirk (Jennifer) Pittman, Milan, IL; daughter-in-law, Jennifer Pittman, Davenport, FL; step-children, Pastor David (Marcia) Hughes, Bushnell, IL, Frankie (David) Trowbridge, Geneseo, IL, Kathy (Gary) Baumgartner, Ottawa, IL and Teresa Fiksen; 33 grandchildren and 46 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank, her parents and son, Specialist Michael Patrick Pittman.
