Ruth Genevieve Tyvoll was born in Cumberland Wisconsin on July 15, 1923, to Martin & Thea Tyvoll. She was the 4th of 2 brothers and 5 sisters, who all passed before her. Ruth graduated from Cumberland High School in 1941, first moving to Saint Paul Minnesota and then she moved to Glendale, CA in 1941, along with her sister Kate. Ruth worked in the war industry bucking rivets on P-38 airplanes. After the war she worked for Knickerbocker plastics painting plastic toys, there she met Gerald. On October 11, 1948, she married Gerald Ralph Rocklein. Ruth retired to be a homemaker after marriage. Ruth and Gerald settled in Glendale until 1952 when their house was in the way of an off-ramp for the new Highway 5. Then they moved to La Crescenta with their existing child, Dennis, and were surprised with twins Cindy & Lindy a few years later. Ruth attended Mt. Olive Lutheran Church from the time she could drive, for a period of over 60 years. When someone needed a ride or there was need for help in the kitchen for events, she volunteered. She continued to volunteer until where she was no longer able to do so, demonstrating the life of a true Christian servant. Ruth went to be with God in Heaven at the age of 97 years 3 months and 5 days on October 20, 2020. She is survived by her three children, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.
