Carolyn (Rowell) McKenzie, 81, of North Myrtle Beach, SC passed away Saturday, November 07, 2020 in Charleston. Born in Myrtle Beach, she was the daughter of the late Walter J. and Mattie A. (Todd) Rowell. She was united in marriage to her soul mate Jerry Lee McKenzie, Sr., in Dillon. Besides her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, Jerry Lee McKenzie, Sr.; sons, Jerry Lee McKenzie, Jr., James Edwin McKenzie; brothers Edwin Rowell, Larry Rowell; grandson, Jerry Lee McKenzie, III.
Carolyn was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a military wife who kept the home fires burning during her husbands many remote overseas tours with the United States Air Force. She loved to dote on her grandchildren and never met a stranger. She loved the Lord with all her heart and had great strength through much sorrow.
Survivors include two daughters, Terri Parker and husband Donnie, Cindy Crowe and husband Larry; daughter-in-law, Tammy McKenzie; grandchildren, Brandy Williamson and husband Joey ; David McKenzie, Sarah McKenzie, Jenni Sipes and husband Brandon, Wesley Sambleson; Samuel Crowe and wife Kelly, Danielle McCombs and husband Corey; 14 great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be held at 10:30 AM, Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at Southern Palms Memorial Gardens, 5000 US-17, North Myrtle Beach, SC 29582. Burial will be in Southern Palms Memorial Gardens.
