Winchester. - The body of Capt. William A. Merritt, paymaster, United States Navy, who died suddenly of a heart attack Thursday at his home near the navy yard at Charleston, S. C., was interred with naval honors in Mount Hebron Cemetery here this afternoon, after funeral rites in Christ Episcopal Church by the Rev. Robert B. Nelson. The Navy was represented by Admiral McCully, of the Charleston navy yard, and Capt. Edward H. Durell. Eight sailors served as active pallbearers and escort of honor.
