He was married to Dana Collins. She survives. He owned and operated Collins Heating and Cooling, in Indianapolis from 1988 to 1997; prior to that he was manager for Bryant Heating and Cooling, Indianapolis for 33 years retiring in 1988. Survivors include his wife; one son, Mickey Collins of Phoenix, Arizona; three daughters, Pam Allgood of Brownsburg, Penny Cummins of Pittsboro and Tish Day of Brownsburg; two brothers, Russ Collins of Norton, Virginia, and James Collins of Sharples, West Virginia; ten grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
