David E. Gow, age 81, of South Gibson, went to be with his Lord and savior Jesus Christ on Wednesday Sept. 5.
His wife is the former Kaye Robinson and they would have celebrated 56 years of marriage on Oct. 20.

Born Oct. 7, 1936 in Scranton, he was the son of the late Joseph Gow Sr. and Eleanor Oakley Gow.

He was a member of the Kingsley Community Church and was formerly employed as a maintenance supervisor at the General Electric plant in Westover, N.Y. He also was a former Gibson Twp. police officer.

He loved his family and was an avid hunter, fisherman and golfer. He loved his musical instruments, his favorite being the banjo and bluegrass gospel music. He played with the Airport Pickers, Black Sage and the East Lemon Group.

David was stationed in Germany and served in the United States Army from 1955 to 1958.

David is also survived by three daughters, Leslie Munyan and husband, Daniel, of Elizabethtown; Lori Lynne Farley and husband, David, of Montrose; and Leanne Davis and husband, Steve, of Dalton; two brothers, Joseph Gow Jr. and wife, Mitzi, of Kingsley; and Richard Gow and wife, Evelyn, of New Buffalo; a sister, Maralyn Scott and husband, Alex, of Kingsley; 10 grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and beloved niece, Nicole Brewer, of Montrose.

He was predeceased by a sister, Virginia Gow Brown; and a brother, Charles Gow.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, Sept. 22 at 11 a.m. in the Kingsley Community Church, with services by Pastor James Madas and former Pastor Alex Scott.

The family will receive friends at the church Friday, Sept. 21 from 5 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, one hour before service time.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations are requested for the Kingsley Community Church, P.O. Box 121, Kingsley, PA 18826; or to Hospice of the Sacred Heart, 100 William St., Dunmore PA 18510.
