Rena E. Andrews, 74, of Amberwood Health Care Center, Rockford, former resident of Rockton for 40 years, died Sunday in the center following a long illness.
She was born Jan. 10, 1912, in Rockford, the daughter of Peter and Edna Olson Schafer. She married Clarence Andrews Jan. 5, 1935, in Rockford. He died Dec. 16, 1981.
Survivors include one son, Ronald S. Andrews of Bloomington, Ill.; two daughters, Shirley (Kenneth) Hollenbach of Beloit, and Sharon (John) Jones of Loves Park; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her parents and two brothers are deceased.
The service will be 2 p.m. Wednesday in Rosman-Uehling-Kinzer Blackhawk Chapel with the Rev. Darrell English of Rockton United Methdist Church officiating. Burial will be in Rockton cemetery. Visitation is 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel.
