Obituary for Marlene Elizabeth Gibson
On November 6, 2020, Marlene Gibson was taken by the hand of our heavenly father to her new home. Upon her arrival, she will be her husband, Tom Gibson; her parents, Arthur W and Nancy Delphine Elwell; her in laws, Ernest and Lillie Mae Gibson; her grandson, William Jake Austin; and her son in law, Lenny Ward.

Marlene was born in Norwood, Massachusetts. Marlene attended the University of Maryland and the University of Oklahoma where she earned her Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Education.

Marlene was employed with the El Reno Public School System as a teacher and a principal. She enjoyed being with her family, traveling, walking, swimming, and reading.

She is survived by her daughters, Diane Ward and Pamela Jurko, son in law Brian and Devin, her granddaughter Jade Austin, sister Nancy Smith, in- laws Leroy Gibson, Dewane M Gibson and Sue, Jerry Gibson and Dorothy, Connie Mitchell and Johnnie. She is also survived by nieces and nephews.

A brief farewell ceremony will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, November 10, 2020 at the El Reno Cemetery. Services are under the direction of Wilson Funeral Home.
