Alma Jean Rash Hill, age 92, of Asheville, passed away on Thursday, November 5, 2020 at Fleshers Fairview Health and Retirement Center. She was born November 27, 1927, in Rutherford County, NC, to the late Roy Rash and Vernie Naomi Lawter Rash. Along with her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband of 75 years, Cecil William Hill, Jr. on February 24, 2020; a sister, Elsie McPhearson; and a brother, Doyle Rash.
Alma is survived by her three sons, Ted M. Hill and his wife Dorothy of Yadkinville, NC, Ron R. Hill and his wife Mary of Etowah, NC and Larry E. Hill and his wife Angela, of Greensboro, NC; three sisters, Edna Clements of Newport News, VA, Juanita Barnaba and her husband Paul of Lauderhill, FL, and Carolyn Caldero and her husband Victor, of Newland, NC; a granddaughter, Lauren Hill of Greensboro, NC; and two grandsons, Shane Hill and his wife Angela of Yadkinville, NC and Brian Hill and his wife Kerry of Godfrey, IL.
Alma was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking and sewing and caring for her family. She was known to make the most wonderful apple pies, Christmas cookies, fudge and turkey stuffing during the holidays. She will be remembered as a devoted and loving wife and mother who cherished her family.
A Graveside Service will be held on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at 1:00 PM at Pleasant Grove Baptist Church Cemetery in Fairview, NC.
