Mary Elizabeth Appleton, 89, a lifelong resident of Pasadena, MD, died on April 10, 2020 at the Fairfield Nursing Center in Crownsville, MD.
Ms. Appleton was born on May 10, 1930 in Baltimore, MD to the late August Sr. and Emma Boblitz. After graduating from Glen Burnie High School in 1947, she immediately began working for Montgomery Ward and served there for 38 years before retiring in 1985. Mary was also a member of Mt. Carmel United Methodist Church in Pasadena. In her spare time, she enjoyed reading, making jewelry, knitting, and cross-stitching.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Appleton is preceded in death by her brother, the Late August "Gussie" Boblitz, Jr. and nephew, August "Bud" Boblitz, III. She is survived by her son, Henry "Hank" Appleton and wife, Mary McCarthy of Massachusetts; brother, John Boblitz of Ellicott City; nephews, John and Charles "Chip" Boblitz; and niece, Stephanie Latta.
In response to recent developments, the immediate family has chosen to keep the funeral services private in order to protect the health of the public. However, we will be livestreaming the funeral service on Tuesday, April 14 at 11:00 a.m. on Stallings Funeral Home's Facebook page. A livestreaming link will be posted at the time of service.
