Patricia “Pat” Edwards Booker, age 86, died peacefully on November 3, 2020 in her home at Magnolia Glen surrounded by her loving family. She is preceded in death by her parents, John W. Edwards and Lula P. Edwards, her devoted husband John P. Booker Jr., her sisters Janice E. Brown, Jackie E. Tedder, Romaine E. Gregory and grandson Steven A. Christos.

She is survived by her daughter, Vickie B. Christos of Raleigh, NC; step-daughter, Lynn B. Blanchard of Wilmington, NC; grandchildren, Jamie Blanchard, wife Angie, Kristin Blanchard, Nicole Proctor, husband Edward, Michael Christos, wife Casey; great grandchildren, Blair Proctor, Colton Blanchard, Caroline Blanchard and Collin Proctor.

Pat retired from the State Bureau of Investigations after 30 years of service with the State of North Carolina. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister who always put her family first. Pat had a warm welcoming smile and a caring hug for everyone. She had a unique talent for creating and designing, including cakes, greeting cards, floral arrangements, wreaths and fashion jewelry. She also excelled at cooking, knitting and crocheting. One of her favorite past times was knitting baby caps and donating them to various local hospitals.
Over the years, she enjoyed traveling with her family, playing cards and bingo. She loved to decorate for Christmas, especially her tree with all moving ornaments. She gained much pleasure when friends and family would come over to see her fabulous creation.

She liked to fish, especially using “biscuit” dough for bait and often would be seen shooting her Red Rider BB gun with her grandchildren. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her much joy and happiness throughout her blessed life.

A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on Saturday, November 7, 2020 in the Moravian Church Section, God’s Acres, at the Historic Oakwood Cemetery, 701 Oakwood Ave. Raleigh, NC 27601.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the National Kidney Foundation or to Transitions Lifecare.

Arrangements with Brown-Wynne Funeral Home, 1701 E. Millbrook Road, Raleigh, NC.
