LINDA'S OBITUARY
Linda Newton, 78, of Pampa passed away on November 4, 2020 in Pampa.
Private family memorial service will be 2:00 PM on Saturday, November 14, 2020 at Carmichael-Whatley Colonial Chapel with Pastor Joel Osborne, pastor of Fellowship Baptist Church, officiating. Cremation and arrangements are under the direction of Carmichael-Whatley Funeral Directors.
Linda was born October 18, 1942 in Quanah to Leslie and Martha Smith. She attended Pampa School while growing up. After high school she married Eddie Newton in 1959. Linda was a caregiver most of her adult life, she worked in group homes and cared for the elderly. She volunteered and taught Sunday school at Fellowship Baptist Church and Grace Baptist Church. Linda loved being “Grandma Linda” to her grandchildren, who she thought were perfect in every way.
She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister, Jeanetta Stover; a grandson, Brent Caviness; and a great great grandson, Craig Fore.
Survivors include her 2 daughters, Martha Isaacs and husband Ricky of Springtown and Deidra Garcia of Pampa; a son, Curtis Newton and wife Melissa of Pampa; 3 brothers, Charles Smith and wife Martha of Amarillo, John Smith and Jim Smith and wife Connie all of Pampa; 11 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
