Judith “Judy” K. Garner, 78, of New Paris, passed away, Thursday, November 5, 2020, at Memorial Hospital, South Bend.

She was born March 15, 1942 in Elkhart to Hardy and Artie (Myrick) Laird.

On September 13, 1958 she marred J.D. Garner in Elkhart.

He survives along with four sons, Michael (Cathy) Garner and Timothy Garner, both of New Paris, Brett (Monica) Garner of Goshen and Rick Chapman of Bristol; a son-in-law, Brian Clayton of Goshen; 12 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren and a step-brother, Jim Laird of Elkhart.

Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, James Dwight Garner; a daughter, Belinda “Bee” Clayton; a granddaughter, Julia Koch; great-grandsons, Drew Metzger and Jaxson James; a sister, Sandra Joseph and brothers, Jerry and Hardy Laird.

Judy enjoyed her family and especially her grandchildren. Family reunions were a wonderful time for her. Judy raised her children in 4-H and enjoyed watching her grandchildren participate in 4-H activities.

Judy worked at Miles Lab up until her retirement. After retirement she worked for IU Health Systems as a phlebotomist.

Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 10, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. The funeral service will start at 1 p.m. at Yoder-Culp. Pastor Jason Rohde will officiate.

Burial will follow in Whitehead Cemetery, New Paris.
