12-07-1901 - Dixon Republican p4:4 - Henry Hausen, an old and much respected resident of Lee County died very suddenly Thursday night (December 6, 1901) at his home a mile west of Franklin Grove. He was 83 years old at the time of his death and was born in Bremen, Lincoln County, Maine. In 1840 he came west with his parents (Henry Helmershausen and Jane Mary Hilton) and their family and settled in China township, this county, which has always been his home. By his industry and good management he became one of the substantial farmers of the county and leaves a comfortable estate. In his later years he devoted a good deal of his attention to his fruit raising and fine poultry, of which he was quite a rancher.
Mr. Hausen was married twice. His second wife survives him. He leaves no children but three brothers; Sylvanus C., Harrison, and Charles Hausen, and a sister Mrs. Faustina, Townsend, all of Franklin Grove. Funeral services will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock. Mr. Hausen was a Mason and the Masonic order of Dixon and other lodges of the county will attend the service.
William was married to Julia Sterry in 1850 in Lee county, Illinois. He married 2nd Ida Nichols in 1900 in Franklin Grove, Illinois.
