RICHMOND, Ind. – Ian Michael Cox, age 42, of Richmond, Indiana, died Wednesday, November 4, 2020.

Born March 16, 1978, in Winchester, Indiana, to Michael and Jani Linn Whited Cox, Ian lived in Richmond most of his life. He was a 1997 graduate of Richmond High School. Ian was a great cook/chef and enjoyed the simple things of life, being outdoors, and gardening. Always keeping busy, he became much crafted within construction and sales. Ian never met a stranger and was always working on a new idea.

Ian became a very proud father to A.J. and Isaiah, who were his life. He played hard with his boys, sharing them lovingly with family and wanting them to be the best they could be in any situation. Ian was nonstop energy from birth and sporting that grin of Ian’s way or no way. Today, he rests in the arms of his mama, sharing that grin with her.

Survivors include his sons, A.J. Cox and Isaiah Cox, both of Richmond; father, Michael (Shelly) Cox of Richmond; grandfather, Brent A. Whited of Richmond; aunt, Barbara Cox Smith of Richmond; uncles, Brent R. Whited, Brad (Mary) Whited, and Bryan (Joyce) Whited, all of Richmond; many cousins, including special cousins, Tracie (David) Cox Kinder of Milton, Indiana, and Jason (Susan) Quinter of Richmond; and friends, who will always have lots of great memories.

He was preceded in death by his mother; grandmother, Carole D. Vogt Whited; and paternal grandparents, Delbert and Elva Hatfield Cox.
