Bonnie F. Schmittel, 92, of Harrisburg, passed peacefully Wednesday evening, November 04, 2020 at her home.

She was born in Campbelltown and was the daughter of the late Aldon and Georgia Funkhouser.

Bonnie grew up in Lickdale and spent her teenage years in the service of the United Service Organizations (USO) at Fort Indiantown Gap.

She went on to receive her Teaching Degree from Millersville University and taught for the Central Dauphin School District.

Bonnie enjoyed reading and had a keen sense of humor her entire life.

She loved to swim and competed in the Senior Olympics at the age of 88.

Bonnie's greatest joy came from visiting with family and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Benjamin H. Schmittel; and, her brother: William Funkhouser.

Bonnie is survived by her two sons: Charles Jeffery Schmittel of Harrisburg and Scott A. Schmittel of Middletown; her two grandchildren; and, her great-grandson whom she adored.

Funeral Services will be held at the convenience of the family.
