Mary Marguerite Hefner, age 91, formerly of French Creek, died Thursday, November 5, 2020, at Colonial Place in Elkins. She was born on July 26, 1929, at Alexander, a daughter of the late Odbert J. Curry and Viola June Depoy Curry. She was preceded in death by her husband Ray E. Hefner on June 16, 2017. In addition to her parents and husband, she was also preceded in death by two sisters: Evelyn Curry and Charlotte Mayme Woody. She is survived by one daughter Nancy F. Hefner and friend Joe Payne of Buckhannon; one sister Rachel and husband Charles Meyer of Easley, SC; one brother Coleman Curry of Buckhannon; and several nieces and nephews.
Marguerite was a teller at Central National Bank in Buckhannon for many years and was a member of the French Creek United Methodist Church, where she had served as Treasurer. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed working in her flower gardens.
The family will receive friends on Monday, November 9, 2020, from 10-11:00 AM, at the Heavner and Cutright Funeral Chapel. A graveside service will be held that day at 11:30 AM, at the Center Chapel Cemetery.
