Gregory Kevin "Pete" Long
Gregory “Pete” K. Long, 63, of Martinsburg, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2020 at his residence.
Born October 28, 1957 in Berkeley County, he was the son of the late Ralph L. Long, Jr. and Virginia “Sue” Long.
Pete graduated from Martinsburg High School in 1975. While there, he was active in many clubs and was a proud member of the MHS football team. He retired from General Motors in 2009. He was an active member of the Posey Hollow Gun Club and thoroughly enjoyed being outdoors in the mountains or on the water fishing at the beach. He loved cheering on the Mountaineers and the Washington Football Team (formerly The Redskins). Those who knew Pete will remember his caring nature and generous spirit.
He is survived by his mother, Sue Long; sister and brother-in-law, Lisa and John Everson and niece and husband, Emily and Zack Layhew; along with aunts, uncles, and numerous cousins.
Pete was preceded in death by his father, Ralph L. Long, Jr.
The Brown Funeral Home will be open for family to receive friends from the hours of 4:00PM to 6:00PM only on Sunday, November 8, 2020.
Visitors will be required to wear face masks, practice social distancing, and follow directives.
