Carl C. Burton, age 87, of Lawrenceville, Illinois passed away on Wednesday, November 04, 2020 at the Good Samaritan Hospital in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born on May 10, 1933 in Neoga, Illinois, the son of Thurl and Nellie (Prince) Burton. He married Sylvia Faye Eddy on April 02, 1955, and she survives.

Carl served his country in the United States Air Force in the Korean War, and then later grew turkeys for Perdue Farms. He was a member of the Calvary Apostolic Church. His hobbies included coon hunting, watching western shows, and playing horse shoes.

Preceding him in death were his parents; four brothers; five sisters; two grandchildren, Charles Strong II and Stephanie Huffer Kay; and son-in-law, Fred Mehler, Sr.

Survivors include his wife, Faye; four daughters, Carol Mehler of Palestine, Illinois, Janice Elaine Huffer and husband, Jason of Waverly, Ohio, Crystal McKenzie and significant other, Troy Nester of Willow Hill, Illinois, Laney Burton of Lawrenceville, Illinois; three brothers, Thurl Burton, Jr. of Effingham, Illinois, Paul Burton of Toledo, Illinois, Jack Burton and wife, Diana of Watson, Illinois; one sister, Faye Welch of Mattoon, Illinois; eight grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral service will conclude with military rites.
